Anniversary concert with The Norwegian Youth Symphony Orchestra

In connection with the opening of the 40th Norwegian International Film Festival, the Norwegian Youth Symphony Orchestra will give a film concert in Haugesund with music and clips from popular films. The concert will take place on the Maritim Outdoor Stage on Saturday 18 August, after the world premiere of Kon-Tiki.

"I Belong" won the Nordic film award in Haugesund

I Belong was selected as the best Nordic film and the winner of the «Viaplay Nordic Film Award Haugesund» when the festival awards were presented in Haugesund tonight. Director Dag Johan Haugerud shares the award of NOK 75,000 with the film's producers, Yngve Sæther and Sigve Endresen of Motlys. The Audience Award went to the festival's opening film Kon-Tiki, directed by Joachim Rønning and Espen Sandberg.

The 2012 Amanda winners (17 August 2012)

Turn Me On, Goddammit! won the award for Best Norwegian Film in Theatrical Release, Joachim Trier won Best Direction for Oslo, August 31st, while the public voted for their favourite film, Headhunters, to win the People's Amanda, when the 2012 Amanda Awards found their happy winners in Haugesund tonight. With four Amanda Awards, including Best Screenplay, Pål Sletaune's Babycall won the most awards.

A New Nordic film award in Haugesund

The Norwegian International Film Festival is pleased to announce the establishment of a new film award – ”The Viaplay Nordic Film Award Haugesund”– during this year's festival. Nordic films that are screened in the festival official programme are candidates to win the award, which amounts to NOK 75,000 and is given to the winning film's director and producer.
